Sirius radio interview from yesterday:

1. “"At end of the day, YouTube videos aren't going to win football games,"

From his pregame speech that was broadcast during the game

2 “Not in flash; rooted in substance, today we talk with our pads”

2. “The Cinderella story is over, they’re fighting for clicks, we’re fighting for wins, there’s a difference”

3. “This game ain’t played in Hollywood, it’s played in the grass”

Hate the ducks as much as anyone but like their coach and love the dismantling of Colorado.

What's a 23 Share?
The Seattle Market for the purpose of national ranking is made up of King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. The Seattle Market ranks #12 in the USA. New York is 1, Los Angeles #2. Chicago #3, etc. The 23 share means 23% of the total TV audience in the Seattle market were tuned to Fox 13. The 6.0 rating means 6% of all homes in the market (including homes that were not watching TV) were watching the game. As a comparison, KOMO TV's evening news had a 3.7 rating.

By the end of the season, we will have so much ridiculous evidence for ESPN and the BIG 12, that we should absolutely demand a verdict.

Evidence That Demands A Verdict

Oregon v Coach Prime

Colorado is getting it handed to them.

That being said, I just saw a play where the Oregon DB grabbed the jersey at the shoulder pad and held it all the way down the field, including when the WR attempted to come back to the ball to make the catch. Can someone explain to me why that's not PI or holding? The TV honk of course says the DB has been playing clean all game right after that play, so I'm asking myself if I don't know the rules of football anymore.

This is not the best Cougar team I've seen by any means

But they are a lot of fun to watch. Arbuckle has made a difference with Ward, and frankly the offense itself is just a better offense. I would like to see a more effective running game but I suspect that's at least partly a personnel issue. Likewise, I'd love to see a bit more out of the run defense up front, but every time the Beavs had to pass protect, for the first three quarters anyway, it was no bueno for big DJ.

I think the 4th down and goal to try and end the game was risky and I'm pretty sure Dickert was regretting it pretty much immediately, but otherwise the play calling was pretty good, frankly better than Smith's, who did not make the most of the advantage he had on offense at the point of attack. Every time the Beavs tried to pass, the Cougs ate 'em up. Secondary played great in this game.

Finally, big shout out to Josh Kelly, who was doing his best Cris Carter impersonation and came pretty close to ending things before they could get dicey.

I don't think there's a team in the Pac that this squad absolutely cannot beat. This team is not very big, and they can be pushed around, but man they're fast, and in the right situations that compensates. Looks like the last year of the Pac is gonna be a banger.

Restaurants

My youngest is making the trip with me today and asked me if there’s sushi in Pullman. I’ve been getting the same postgame meal for several years, so I didn’t have an answer. I don’t see anything on yelp or TripAdvisor, so…does anyone know if there’s sushi in Pullman? And is it safe to eat before I get back in the car? I don’t want gas station deli case sushi.

To those in charge

of the game-day experience, video production, band direction/coordination...huge props! WAY less annoying, piped in, speaker-distorting music and a LOT more Cougar marching band!

The video-production crew does a fantastic job with their profiles and promos of the team and current NFL former COUGS.

More of THAT please! That's all I have to say about that
