Do people keep their clothes on at Tronstock/Apple Cup/Ellensberg MuniBond Stadium?
No. It’s similar to Ground Hog day. If the nipples get hard, fall has officially begun.

Too bad. Think of the sponsorship/revenue potential. Pornhub.com, Adam&eve.com, Castle Megastore. WSU is simply missing out on huge dollars waiting to be had. Truly a lack of vision. People will drive 180 miles from Spokane/Pullman for that kind of action. WSU could be the pimp daddy of universities if they would just seize on this hookup/revenue opportunity.
Loser mentality.

Reschedule the game for the 8th of May?

Two things. First, how do you know of all these apparently naughty websites?
Second, you all should know that I have been making a list of all the posters who have posted (and how many times) since I renamed this thread the "Idiots only thread". Just sayin'......
Ok three things. The thread renaming function (I was unaware of this until someone pointed it out recently) is pretty cool. When we have these topics that quickly veer into something completely different than the title, just change the title to reflect it. Almost magical.

I am intrigued by your fascination with what UW makes off one game. If WSU got all of the revenue from the apple cup regardless if it is played in Seattle or Pullman and us didn’t get a cut, it would make no difference in their budget . They would still have an ample an signiificantly larger budget than oursQuit whining about threads and posts who cares.
My argument for moving the Apple Cup to the first week of October and the potential for a split rivalry stadium at a neutral field is completely valid.
It helps us a lot and it evens things out with UW.
The reality is that people were brainwashed into never thinking about how we can leverage the game into an advantage. Finally someone said how to do it and it blew fuses in people’s brains.
If you have an in state rival that makes more money on the rivalry game you move into a position so you make the game even. That is a neutral location with 50/50 revenue splits annually.
If you are having trouble with the game clashing with winter break and playing at the end of the year with a less deep roster than your spoiled rival you move it to the middle of the year with no schedule conflicts when your guys are healthy.
We would make more money, not interfere with winter break, have a fresher team, and close the revenue gap. And I truly believe. Win a lot of Apple Cups.
A WSU roster in good health always playing UW on a neutral site will win half the time if not more.
If you look at the series history the return to Pullman opened the door for the rift to begin and UW knew it. WSU would make little on the game and UW would get the lions share of the rivalry revenue...which they would reinvest in the program distancing itself from us and widening the gap.
The whole reason why we are able to build the Martin renovations and football ops and get Leach was why? Equal revenue distribution.
And we should always be positioning ourselves for equal revenue distribution at all times. Especially with UW, especially involving the Apple Cup.

Don't UW & WSU split the revenue from the Apple Cup anyway?

This makes no sense Tron. Then what we need to do is just have regional stadiums. Not one in Ellensburg but Yakima where OSU and UO can also go, just within a few hours of each school. OSU should be splitting their game, as well. What, 2 maybe 3 stadiums shared in CA? One out in the middle of nowhere in AZ. Find a place between UT and CO? Then with no home field advantage for anyone, we all split everything evenly. No one has a leg up, no one has a leg down. Socialism for football. No thanks. Football was built on home field advantage. That's what brings fans in. That's what makes WSU my second home...The gap closes. As noted in an article above the Apple Cup in Seattle generates about 4 times as much in revenue in just tickets. (which is split) but the concessions and all the ancillary revenue goes to UW. And you can probably image that is also about 4 times the money which UW gets over us.
Anytime we can eliminate that sort of disparity we should. One game at a time. We get even on Apple Cup through all revenue and we are 1/12 of the way on to making revenue parity. You attack the revenue gap the same way as you do the games of the season. How much do we make in our opener? How much does UW make in their opener? How can we close that gap etc. etc.
Building WSU up on all fronts and capturing market share is what it is all about, and we can do more and should demand it.

Funny this makes me think about the stadium in downtown Spokane. No one has home field advantage and they are doing it for financial reasons... I'm surprised more of you aren't in support of this! You're in support of the stadium in Spokane but not this?! What's the difference other than it's college ball vs high school?
What do you think Mike Leach would say about your concept?Social Capitalism got us our stadium upgrades and MIke Leach so yes I am for it because it helps us gain an even footing. The Apple Cup should be as fair and even a venue as possible for the biggest in state game. The rest it is how you manage it.
Our home field advantage isn't a home field advantage given the current disparity in revenue which UW exploits. I am pushing to take that away.
What do you think Mike Leach would say about your concept?
Glad Cougar
It also means that, if we keep this ball rolling, that we'll never get ahead of UW, either. You mean the coach who believes in equal ball distribution to attack on all fronts. I think he would totally be for it because it attacks the in state rivalry making it an even playing field all around, brings south teams to cold weather in November for an advantage.
