I just bought tickets and I’m going.
I like Jake Dickert. I think he’s a good coach and good for WSU. There is an AC thread on X where somebody linked a segment of Coach with Puck on his podcast. Dickert asked for our support reasonably, he was right and so I got the tix and I’m assembling a crew.
Nostalgia wins and so will the Cougs 22-19.
Cougs have a lot of team speed and enthusiasm on defense. We may lack depth necessary to survive an entire season on top but the starters are clicking right now and they’re having fun.
Offense: Mateer. Cougs have never had a running QB like this and I’m intrigued. Ricky Turner was more of a RB who took snaps but, he did win an Apple Cup 🍎
Rain: doesn’t look like much rain and besides, the air at Lumen swirls high above and unless you’re in the first six rows or on the field, you aren’t getting wet.
I still don’t like Pat Chun, not sold on UW, their coach or their QB so 22-19 it is.
See you there.
Unlike Biggs, (as I don't think Biggs likes CJD), in fact I think he loathes him! Notice how Biggs is quiet when we win?
That said, me on the other hand, I'm like you. I don't like Dickert, I love the guy. I personally think he's the best coach we've ever had, and I was a huge Leach freak.
Dickert with his leadership, his faith, his positive outlook, his ability to overcome major setbacks, his knowing how to manage players and a team, his heart, his blood, his defense coordinator experience, his intelligence of how to be successful, his ability to get his players to show up and be ready for big games, his family in Pullman and his kids in Pullman schools, his listening skills, his ability to not be cocky and high-minded, his recruiting, his salesmanship....all this adds up to be the best coach Washington State has ever had, in my opinion. (No Mike Price comments, please).
Oh, did I say Dickert is a salesman? This equates to recruiting, big time, where recruiting is everything.
If he wins big today,
we're off to the races.
