Just out of curiosity, what are you struggling with.

I do have to ask... What is it you and Justin are trying to do? Change hearts and minds about Trump, setting the stage if Trunp by chance loses that it was fixed?

I mean it is hard to take either of you serious as you two post things like a small crowd size and say it was a campaign rally in North Carolina and Harris nor Walz were North Carolina on Friday
I usually don’t comment one way or the other, Ed. You reach your conclusions based solely on your own bias.

I just enjoy watching you ditch, dodge and lie.

As usual, they don't rank professionals

In Isla Vista, town next to UCSB, I spotted at least two full blown liquor stores that sell kegs to go.

Exhibit A (Keg and Bottle):

This place is literally right in the middle of their greek and live out houses. There were a couple of more stores like this.

Ryan Leaf suggests pulling the plug on the ESPN GameDay flag

@425, do you think there is a lot of overlap in the leadership between the "stop the flag" and "boycott the fake Apple Cup" movements?

Apparentlt there are a lot folks at Brand Z (Diehard Cougs) who want to see both traditions end as way to get back at media partners or Pac-12 peer institutions who tried to put the screws to the Cougs
It's not just Brand Z. Coug fans are voting with their butts.

Look at ticket sales for any game this season. There is plenty of availability for all games. Texas Tech has the best sales so far, but you'll still have no trouble finding seats. There are still spots near midfield where you can get 12 seats in a row.

For Apple Cup, you can still buy 12 seats together in large parts of the stadium - including almost anywhere on the WSU sideline. If you only want 2-4, you can pretty much pick where you want them.

Attendance this weekend is going to be terrible. Looking at the seating map, it looks like we'll be lucky to hit 20K.

On the resale market: You can buy tickets for this weekend for $15-20 right now. Under $50 for Texas Tech, as low as $54 for UW (with lots of tickets available). $25 for all of the other games in Pullman.

New topic - Realignment! :)

The ACC is not going to collapse.

I'll give you a couple of points to consider.

ESPN has a lot at stake with the ACC and will move when necessary to protect their financial interests.

The ACC Network launched Aug. 22, 2019. The network profits are split 50/50 between ESPN and the ACC.

In 2022-23 academic year for which data is available the league made $481.7 million from its television rights.

This year the ACCN will receive carriage rates from cable and satellite companies in Northern California with the addition of Stanford and Cal and the Dallas Texas market with the addition of SMU.

The Nielsen TV Market ranking for San Fran and Palo Alto area is #10 and #5 for the Dallas Market.

Additionally, the ACC total sports content/distribution is 100% with ESPN. If the ACC collapsed ESPN would have a BIG HOLE in their sports programming.

At this point in time we are hearing from everyone else but ESPN.

Don't know if WSU/OSU could become a member of the ACC with a western pod with CAL and Standford but ESPN will be part of the discussion.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!
What I read here is that if it looks like FSU and Clemson might win in their challenge to the ACC contract and grant of rights....ESPN will just dig a little deeper into their own pockets and give them enough to make the challenge go away.

Ryan Leaf suggests pulling the plug on the ESPN GameDay flag

I don't want my position to be misconstrued. I don't think waving the flag on Gameday makes it more likely ESPN will choose to help WSU get in a power conference, in the sense that they think "hey, a small group of alumni continue to send this flag around and make sure a flag with their logo appears on our show! That's a power conference fan base right there, and I'm going to let this move the needle on whether I push Yormark to let WSU into the Big 12."

Rather, I think there's some small chance that stopping the flag-waving now, especially since news bites on it would be accompanied by quotes from people like Ryan Leaf saying that we stopped it because ESPN and others screwed us, that it would rub someone at ESPN the wrong way and that it could come back to bite WSU in some way, perhaps relevant to conference realignment or maybe even the Pac-12's own future media negotiations. The likelihood is small but the cost of maintaining the flag stunt, at least at this particularly crucial time, also is pretty small.

Ward for Heisman

Is he being coached or is he being coddled like another Cam, who also relied on his legs and the athleticism of his teammates to cover the fact that he was a one or two read qb?

The most dangerous thing about that kind of athlete is that you can never convince them that they are the issue - its always the OL or the WRs who didn't do their job.

I think CW is a nice kid and I hold no ill will, but he is a product of yes-men and sycophants who aren't holding his feet to the fire and coaching him how to qb at the next level. Justin Fields anyone?

The joke on this list is USC. As the real estate agents always say, "location, location, location". In SC's case the foreign student population also alters the culture of the overall student body; they rake in a lot of money by swelling the foreign student population.

UCLA is a pretty reserved party school. Outside of the frats the school is almost dead on a weekend. Sure, they party. But to be on this list? And ranking Oklahoma ahead of Oklahoma State defies logic.

Santa Barbara is legit. It is closer to WSU of the late 70's than any other school that I've visited, with all the attendant issues that goes with that.
Attendant issues = morally casual attitude?

UCSB has a clock tower that glows red?

Was 20-1 odds a week ago. Now 7-1 and second favorite. Excited for the kid and for what he can do behind a Miami OL
I’m rooting for him too. No ill will. His warts are pretty easy to identify having watched him for a couple of years, but hope he can correct them as he’s a tremendous talent. I suspect the first time he encounters a defense that plants him a few times we will see more dancing and fumbling like we did last year during and after UCLA though.

If Miami has an OL that can give him 4+ seconds to throw, he might be great. If he has to deal with pressure.....it's important to remember that JDL got benched and Arizona became a lot better when they gave up on him. Sometimes, our QB's have sucked at times because they just happen to suck at times...not because of the rest of the team.
