Former WSU athletic director returns to Evergreen State

Jim Sterk is the new AD at Western.

He left Missouri a couple years ago, but it seemed like kind of a hush-hush deal. Maybe Flat can fill us in since that's his neck of the woods

Sterk the show for at WSU from 2000-10 before leaving for San Diego State and then Mizzou

He played linebacker at Western. Maybe he'll try to re-start their football program at some point?

Media deal iminent?

C'mom guys. no posts since 9:15 this AM? Do you have lives or something?

I won't link them, but both Brand X and Y quote Shulz as saying a deal is imminent. Of course he's been saying that since March. He also said it would be about close to the expiring deal. Great.

I still don't get how we can strike a deal when we don't even know HTF will be in our league after the traitors leave. This part just kills me. I mean Geezus. What media outlet would pony up to this pig in a poke? (farmboy slang for you city boys) :)

I am a broken record on this, but Gawd it's been a year since the traitors announced they were leaving. And the Pac has not done shit since. I mean c'mon. San Diego State. No f-ing brainer. Either UNLV or Colorado State. Fresno maybe, but I'm a Meh on that. SMU or Tulane? F-that. Nobody gives a shit about them.

Are most Spokane-area Zags also WSU football fans?

Judging by TV ratings and the crowds for their home games, Gonzaga has developed a sizable fan base for basketball.

For our Spokane posters here, do most of those GU alums as well as local Zag “t-shirt fans”in your area cheer and support the Cougs during football season?

Seems like that’s something that could work into WSU’s favor if/when the Big 12 starts looking at both schools as possible future members.

I know Chun would have every base covered if he talks to Big 12 officials.

Colorado State?

Maybe we should consider these guys. Land Grant, Vet school, Tier 1. Bigger stadium than ours. Might be a way to keep Colorado in the fold.

San Diego State, Colorado State. I kind of like it, although I still think UNLV makes more sense. We need to make a move. WTF are Klaitkoff and the Presidents doing?

Big-12 Mexico announcement....

That's what they are calling it. "Big-12 Mexico." In states like Texas, with a border crisis, the Big-12 leadership sets a partnership to play games in Mexico City.

Discontinue series with PAC-12 deserters?

Listening to some sports talk radio today and one of the guys mentioned that one way to “stick it” to any Pac-12 schools that leave is to drop them in all sports, which would significantly increase their travel burdens and further isolate their programs geographically.

For example, if the Ducks and Huskies left for a bigger check and screwed the schools who were loyal, the Cougs and Beavs would make them pay and anger their fans by dropping all games, matches, meets, etc.

Would this be a pretty effective tactic to send a message about trying to breakup a conference in the name of money?
