Allright Stretch, you are so full of shit. First off, who invited the press to a meeting that absolutely should have been behind closed doors? Not Zelensky. It was all about Trump blindsiding Zelensky. And what exactly did Zelensky do wrong when he was being berated and finger pointed at from Trump and JD Vance? Did you want him to get on one knee and beg? This disaster is fully on Trump wanting public theatre. Horribly damaging to everyone, especially Ukraine.
And Trump can't get a peace deal if 100% in favor of Ukraine? So what, Russia gets the occupied territory, and a lukewarm guarantee (not from the US though) of security?
Do you dipshits forget that Russia's first attack came from the North, destination Kyiv? It was a full-scale invasion bent on taking over the whole country. Thankfully Ukraine stopped them cold. So F yes any peace deal should be 100% in favor of Ukraine.
And Observer - "the boss" was the one who invited the press (including Russian state media so I read. If he looked bad on TV (he did) that his fault.
Europe's reaction is unsurprising and justified. Trump won't stop until he destroys our country.
Part 1
Okay, here we go. You know, I did happen to catch the predictions on either CNN or MSNBC the night before the meeting where they were predicting this was all about sabotaging Ukraine. I laughed at the time and I laugh now. (Yes, I do sometimes check out what kind of bullshit those phonies are talking about at the time.
Please explain exactly why this meeting should have been behind closed doors? This was not ever planned to be a negotiating meeting, it was planned as a celebration of an agreement between the two countries that would hopefully be a step towards a peaceful ending of the war IN Ukraine. It is just like has been done over and over and over by many presidents doing treaties, trade agreements, even Executive Orders. It was to be a chance for the press to ask questions of the two leaders just before the actual signing. BTW, this was actually the 3rd opportunity that Zelensky had been given to sign the agreement, the previous 2 times were in Europe and he backed out both times. No surprise he torpedoed this opportunity as well.
The problem with Zelensky is that he is letting his hatred rule his decision making. He is not understanding the reality of the situation that he finds himself in, as he wants to have his country made whole again and have Putin completely removed, and that just ain't going to happen.
So what exactly is the situation? To start with, Putin is a bully, a thug, a killer, an asshole, and has no concern at all for VZ, the Ukrainian people, or the Russian people. He considers them as disposable as a used Kleenex. So Russia/Putin has invaded Ukraine. They have now been there about three years, right? If everything was right and good in the world, Putin would have an epiphany that he was doing wrong and would apologize and withdraw all of his troops from Ukraine. And Crimea also. Of course, we all know that the odds of that happening are approximately 10 zillion to 1, so now what do we do? Which of the two parties in the war have the position of strength? Sadly, it is Russia, as they have position of the disputed territory, they have the edge in weapons, and they have the edge in manpower, which Putin considers expendable. The only reason Ukraine has been able to hang onto what they have is because several countries, including the US, have contributed weapons, ammunition, etc. Of course, Russia has been able to convince both China and North Korea to contribute supplies and bodies to their cause, so that makes them even stronger in a matchup with Ukraine.
From an article on RedState.com, only to quote the portion shared on Twitter/X by that notorious right winger, Jake Tapper:
"I hope I'm going to be remembered as a peacemaker. I'm doing this to save lives — more than anything else… this could lead to a third world war. This was headed in the wrong direction," he added.
Even CNN's anti-Trump reporter Jake Tapper was forced to admit that a pro-Ukraine expert, normally supportive of Zelenskyy, told him that Zelenskyy should listen to Trump.
“Ukraine is losing this war,” the expert told him. “Russia is making tens of thousands of drones per month, and Ukraine can't shoot them all down. Russia is making advances because Russia doesn't value human life and is ok to lose thousands of men a day. Ukraine can't keep up with that and shouldn't.”
"There needs to be an end to this war, and there are only three ways out,” the expert continued. “One, America can send military weapons and manpower and potentially this starts World War III. Two, Ukraine can surrender and give in to Putin. Or three, we give this ceasefire plan and deal that Trump is pushing a chance. I would go for option three. Trump was talking about Ukraine getting land back that it has lost just yesterday.”
The expert added, "Zelenskyy knew the position of the Trump administration ahead of time. Perhaps this meeting was a trap, but it's one Zelenskyy could have easily avoided.”
