Romar is a great recruiter, that is for sure.Kent has a good history in that he has made the elite Eight with an Oregon team. Can he duplicate that kind of success in Pullman ? it remains to be seen. Kent inherited a mess when he got here. I really like the cast of players he has currently assembled . If he adds Bernsteine ,it could get very interesting.

Recruiting to Pullman is the one thing that hasn't changed. Rav was probably the best and he had several strike out classes, even after he had been here awhile. I will not get in to who inherited bigger messes, but will note that Ernie is no worse his first 3years than Rav, Dick, or Sampson. Bone certainly inherited a team with great upside, but the total absence of any upper class experience was a big factor in not at least making the NIT. It is interesting that 2coaches not highly thought of in Stevens and Eastman were more successful their first 3 years than our more highly thought of coaches.

Yes, those first 3 years can be misleading. Stevens inherited the program George built, Eastman inherited Kelvin's successful team. Once players recruited by Rav & Sampson had graduated or left the program, things got difficult. In my view, Dick Bennett may have done the best job of all despite never having a winning season at WSU. Nobody...Bone, Ernie included...inherited a program as destitute as the one Paul Graham left for DB. I thought WSU basketball might have been permanently ruined by Graham, and never would have thought in 4 short years the Cougs would be a S16 team.

Agree, and even Graham left Kelati and Moore for Dick. I think Dicks 3rd year tells a lot about the kids we can get at WSU. That Low, Cowgill class was very under rated, but it was all upside until they were juniors.

Agree on Stevens, Eastman, and of course Graham.

Dick Bennett turned things around more quickly than I ever expected. Just the general competitiveness after so may blowouts and coming close to knocking off #1 Stanford year 1 was brilliant stuff. Anyone who could on day 1 describe where we would be after year 3 with such great accuracy is a true coaching master in my book.

Ike shot 37 % from 3 point land. His problem is inconsistency and not being a smart basketball player. Ike will go on a 1 on 4 fast break without any hesitation

The starting five should be interesting. The only two sure starters will be Bernsteine and Flynn. I think Franks, is penciled in at the start of the season. it is difficult to see how it will unfold .Gittens has promise,Hinson has experience ,as do Pollard and Cooper. I like Chidom s skill set and Acquach and Ergas should figure in somewhere. The two, Pollard and Cooper offer the best inside defense. The players who would seem to be on the outs may be Daniels and langston. It may be 5-10 games into the season until a 7-8 man rotation is set

I agree Langston could be hard pressed to find minutes. Ergas will have to show some skills to go with his athleticism in order to get ahead of Daniels in the rotation.

Nice to be able to have 10 or 11 guys in the discussion at this time of year

I am pretty intrigued by Chidom form just the little workout video of him but most likely it's going to take him time. If it doesn't then great but he's only practiced at this point.

Ergas is the kind of project you take a chance on. I didn't understand bringing in Langston especially with 3 years. With Hinson, Gittens, Ergas and potentially Chidom getting minutes at the 3 I don't see where Langston fits at this point. Of course that can always change over an offseason.

Reports out of LA say that the Lakers were not blown away with L Ball s workout. They met with Josh Jackson on Thursday and will meet with Kentucky s D Fox on Tuesday. So theoretically, their second choice in the NBA remains up in the air.

Having watched Bernsteine play live 3 times I think he is a great addition especially at this point in the recruiting process. I think he will add depth and without a doubt be in the rotation not sure he is a starter right out of the gate. As far as Hinson goes I've become a tad weary of putting to much stock in JC players producing in their first year. Acquaah I have very high hopes for and I have said it before I think Pollard will have a very good year. Franks needs to start living up to all the hype about his potential. Chidom apparently wasn't good enough last year to help the team or he wouldn't have redshirted, we've all seen players make huge strides in redshirt years and hopefully he falls into that group. Ergas has extreme athletism it will also be interesting to see his progress from his redshirt year.

Interesting comments. I like to hear different opinions. I think Chidom may blossom this year. When i first saw videos of the guy ,i saw very good skills but an immature and physically weak player. His last video showed that he has gained strength and some weight. Chidom has gained 11 pds and now weighs 201 pds. One hopes that he can add about 5-7 more pds and gain in strength . He really has not been playing basketball that long . He needs to be a little more explosive underneath and improve his rebounding prowess..I have always liked Pollard and hope he will improve and become a little more offensive minded. There are a lot of "if s" associated with the team. However, there is a lot of potential The team needs a couple of players to assert themselves and earn starting minutes,Whom they will be is conjecture, but there are many options for once.

Did you know that they were/are 702 college basketball players who opted to transfer this year? There are still 232 college basketball players available. The face of college basketball is changing. The recruitment of players is changing and all college coaches are now accepting and recruiting transfers. Coach Kent now recruited one graduate transfer to his program this year. Look for this trend to continue as coaches look to fill holes in their programs

Drick Bernsteine is the 11th player to score 20 pts and pull down 15 rbs in the Big Dance since 2010,This was against a top 5 team , Arizona in a first round match up.

Ike I is working out for the Sacramento Kings. Teams like his athleticism and defensive ability

Oregon landed 6'T graduate transfer MiKlye Mc Intosh. This will strengthen the duck s team and help make up for their losses

Ike I worked out for the Denver Nuggets. He must be setting some kind of record. He also must have a great agent. Ike will play pro ball somewhere because of his athletic ability

Where else has Ike tried out?

He'd be a great guy to bring into camp and make your starters earn it with his speed and quickness. Highly doubt he'd make a roster but he'd probably drive some NBA divas nuts in practice.

Malachi Flynn started his workouts to try and make the under 19 team yesterday. There are about 30 players trying for about 12 slots i presume..It will be interesting to see how he fares. It will be a great learning experience even if he does not make the cut.

Malachi Flynn did not make the first cut to 18 players. However,i am sure that it was a great experience for the young man

Oregon s 6'11 Kavell Bigby-Williams has committed to LSU. This is a big loss to Oregon s inside game.

Anton Watson 6'7 HS from Gonzaga Prep has committed to Gomzaga U. He also had offers from the cougs and udub among others

Oregon s 6'11 Bigby-Williams, who transferred to LSU has been under investigation for sexual assault in Sheridan Wyoming. This incident happened in September of last year. Oregon's coach and AD deny they knew of the investigation..

Markell and Lonzo go 1-2 in NBA Draft. That is also 1-2 for the PAC 12. I wonder how many more PAC 12 players are picked in the 1st ans 2 nd rounds?

Kyle Kuzma.UTAH, goes to Lakers with the 27th pick. Zach Collins was drafted at the number 10 pick

Derrick White Colorado is the 29 th player picked. An impressive showing by the PAC 12. with 5 players chosen out of the top 30 players chosen. How many second rounders with a couple of Oregon players waiting in the wings. So much for the naysayers who doubted how good a league the PAC 12 was last year.

The uw had a player of theirs picked number one in the WNBA draft (Kelsey Plum) and the NBA draft.

The PAC players were picked at 38,41,45,47,53,and 56. So a total of 5 players in the first round and 6 in the second round. A great showing by the PAC 12, They had 11 players chosen out of the 60 picked So i guess the league was a strong league last year.

So much talent. But so many one and dones. You have to go back to 08 to see more NBA talent, but only Love and Mayo were one and done. Harden. Westbrook, Anderson , the Lopezes, Weaver. Plus 3 or 4 more who I am blanking on all drafted

ESPN had ranked Arizona s Simmons and Oregon s Boucher as the 4th and 10th best players left on the Board when the draft was over.Yes.indeed.so much talent in the PAC 12.

Interesting ,the GSW picked up Oregon s Bell with the 38th pick of the draft,They then signed Oregon s undrafted Chris Boucher to a two year contract. I guess they want more rebounding and defense from the 4 position.

Markelle F said that "he wants to be as good or better than Michael Jordan" I guess you cannot blame someone for dreaming.
