Ugh. Based on the first exchange, our practices definitely aren’t iron sharpening iron.

Better on the second series. OL managed to protect a bit.
Pulalasi had a couple decent runs but I think could have gotten more if he was more decisive. Freshmen.
Mateer has a strange delivery. Slightly sidearm, and not much body rotation. But it’s pretty quick and gets downfield.

Now the defense needs to stiffen.

And the D stiffens with some good DL play. Nice.

Attendance looks brutal. Like 15K brutal

Ok, first series on both sides may have been nerves and settling in. Both sides have looked good the rest of the quarter. Starting to look like the mismatch this game should be.

Now, on offense I’d like to see them work the run. The OL doesn’t seem to be able to get past their initial blocks and get to the LBs. That needs some work if we’re going to run effectively later.

That’s a fumble. Never know w p12 refs though. How are any of these clowns back by the way?!

Why is Mateer holding for extra points?

Looks like he may have been starting to cock back to throw….but I don’t see any way he was coming forward to throw.

So Kirk, looks like you were probably able to talk to everyone who showed up today…right?

. Nice run by Parker. Still think he’s going to need blocking help at the second level though.

K. Those unis are annoying. Shouldn’t it be the Vikes? Feels like they are sponsored by vapor rub.

This game is no longer meaningful for identifying things we do well. This is an even bigger mismatch than expected, and at this point all it’s useful for is tuning up the things we don’t do well. Fine tune some things, work on situations, start rotating the depth players onto the field, and have the starters on the bench by the end of the 3rd. Nobody gets hurt.

The early opponent score overreaction is as classic as our uniforms today. I’m at the game, and trust me, the outcome was never in question. We can score 80+ if we want to.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Loyal is on Amazon shopping for a wig and a skirt after that touchdown run.

Great idea putting that play on tape

Yeah, it was clearly nerves or something. After that 3 & out we’ve pretty much done whatever we wanted.

Things for 2nd half:

- downfield run blocking consistently. I know there was one on the QB draw, but the OL needs to put shoulders on LBs.
- outside containment, keeping the QB inside and not giving him the scramble after he looks downfield. Thats going to be an issue in the 4-2-5, but a scrambling QB is going to find room against us

Having lost to FCS teams twice, I’d say this couldn’t have gone much better. Key for the rest of the game is to finish with zero injuries and get some experience for the youngsters. I’d say Zevi should get a couple of drives with the first team O to start the second half then mass subs

What a AWESOME half. 49 in 1 half, 1st half.

Offense was AMAZING, FANTASTIC, AWESOME.

Defense was, is between ok, above average to semi good, with some awesome plays.

Stephen Hall, and rest of secondary have been awesome at times. DL ok to semi great. Linebacker starters, depth, been between semi bad to below average to ok at best at times, and been semi sloppy, semi bad tackling at times, missed tackles, semi not being disciplined, not following assignments, over pursuing, etc.

Mateer will probably play 1,2 series in 2nd half, with Zevi probably taking over about midway thru 3rd quarter.

That's assuming WSU doesn't let Portland St back into game.

Time for WSU to step on Portland St's neck, and finish the game, etc.
