Spokane sportsplex.....is that a HS football field I see beside it?

Who cares? They're well on their way to creating the greatest sports complex in the history of Meadkind...in Mead. I was well into my $5.99 fish and fries combo at Zip's yesterday and watched as they ripped the last of the ponderosa pines out of the ground. Thompson High is going to dominate for decades!

They don't allude to it, but it is a field with 300' long bleachers

Total miss not moving the HS football stadium downtown, either as part of this or a stand alone structure.

The Mead facility will be pretty cool as well.

Then there’s the proposed sports complex in Glenrose. What the neighbors don’t seem to grasp is this will end up being apartments some day if it’s not a sports field. Pick your poison.

Nope. No field because of, well, I’m tired of railing at the stupidity and politics of it all.

The big ‘field’ in the SportsPlex is for indoor track and field among other things. Several western universities (not just EWU and WSU) have already booked the facility for practices and meets. I was relatively surprised at the lack of indoor track facilities in the west. Apparently a big demand.

Those NIMBYs are pretty well F’d. SYSA doesn’t rely on tax dollars and the land and eventual facilities have been funded by private donations. South Spokane needs more apartment complexes like I need another spouse...or not. Because that’s what’s going in if the sports fields don’t.
