WSU at New Mexico game thread....

Both of our coordinators suck. 10 games into the season and both units are no better than they were in game 1. Defense is probably worse.
Our defense is just good enough to hang on when our offense is moving the ball and scoring. They can’t stem the tide at all when the offense goes cold. As shitty as the defense is, the offense can’t have that many straight empty possessions. Absolute killer.

Should we just let em score here? I’ll take my chances with our offense needing 3 with 2 minutes. There’s no way this possession doesn’t end in a lobos TD, we need to conserve some time.

Omg everyone knew number 6 was getting the ball and sweep left….except our D. completely out of position. When they saw him moving ahead of the snap why didn't they react?

No. You count on the defense to make a stop, you don’t preserve time for the opponent. You keep the timeouts for your own use.
lol they had timeouts too. And plenty of time. We just ran out of time and have 3 timeouts we can’t use. You are wrong.

Poorly coached football is a matter of time before it bites you.

Dickfore is a fraud. Give him a greyhound bus ticket. Dont let him on the plane.

Sure ok. How’d that work out for you? They scored and you had 13 seconds left? You are wrong
21 actually, because the defense didn’t do their job. If I use my timeouts, their offense gets to relax, because now they have 6. They can do whatever they want. And if they fumble a snap, or take a sack, it’s no longer devastating. Also tells your defense you have no confidence in them.

If you use the timeouts and they score, your offense is left basically hosed if there’s less than a full minute. They have to throw to the sidelines and get out. Keep the timeouts, you can still use the middle of the field.

It’s all variations in approach and situations. I wouldn’t say either is wrong, but I’ll say that if my team line up against yours, I’ll beat you on clock management.

You’d need a score in 13 seconds having sat on all of your timeouts. I’d kick your ass up and down the field. It’s embarrassing that you are trying to make an argument for that clock management after the fact. Just stop.

It was never great. It is a middle class Mtn West team that has come out on top in some games. Credit for gritty, late wins. But this is a poorly coached program top to bottom.
I would say our coaching is a little bit above average. I'm going B-.

How can they not be better than this with being so far into the season?

That's my biggest disappointment.

It’s embarrassing that you’re setting up strategy based on hindsight. The way this one worked out, you can argue for using the timeouts. During the action, when you’ve got the lead, and especially when the other team is running the ball, you don’t do them a favor and stop the clock.
