First, the good news. WSU has made it exponentially easier for season ticket holders to change their seat locations. The online process worked great for me. I was able to move from the Pressbox side over the North side and add an extra seat without issue. Trust me when I say that convenience and WSU ticket ordering have historically never been used in the same sentence.

Now the bad news. I was shocked at how many available seats there are in all sections. I have 5 seats together, so I went into the process yesterday thinking that it was going to be tough to find seating availability in other sections, but there was amply availability.

Stating the obvious here, but we really need to start winning; particularly our home games. We've picked the worst possible time to go into a 10+ year competitive coma. Fan interest state wide is seemingly at a modern day low.

Complications include the fact that every game is now on TV. Fewer fans attend games, and thus they've become even further removed from our program. Add in that we now have 800,000 new Seahawk fans who have eaten away at both ours and UW's fan bases, and the obstacles are even greater. The Seahawk factor is a big deal. Their games, not WSU's or UW's, are what people are highlighting on their weekend calendars.

We have to start winning. Easier said than done, but the corner needs to be turned.

The season is over. Now the real work begins. Make the most of this summer and get a jump on next season.

So big topic, Biggs brought it up a while back and I'm guessing this is where he was hoping the topic would go. It seems Satellite Camps could be heading out, about the time they really start hitting their stride.

It seems the Pac 12 Conference is looking into "combines" hosted by the conference, in different regional areas in order to make the political quagmire of the satellite camps go away. I like it! Like Scott says in the article linked below, devil is in the details. Like, is it invite only for the recruits? Obviously location for the regional combine will become a hot topic, i.e. here in WA. Of course UW will want it in their back yard. Will that matter to WSU? Those details will be interesting to watch. But overall, I like the ideas. As long as the PAC itself staffs and is in charge of each combine. When a specific school starts getting leeway on certain things, that's what will become the rub. If the PAC wants to do this, they better insure that these combines remain VERY "down the middle". Anything that could even remotely be perceived as favoritism to one school, and it'll kill the whole concept.

BUT I think this also forwards the conference, as a whole, for the recruits in the West. It certainly will make the SEC and others look like old farts stuck in their ways.

This kid is indeed worth watching. He is a 6'8 205 pd Alaskan Native. He averaged 18 pts .10mrbs and 2.5 blks as a 9th grader.He has a 4.0 GPA. He was Alaska's. POY. The competition is not that good but he has all the tools. As a 7th grader at 6'6 ,he acquitted himself well in a Las Vegas tournament. Perhaps Ernie Kent is on him already. He will be a 2018 recruit and will likely be highly recruited.

Committed and signed by Wisconsin. Van Vliet stated that the coaching staff has assured him that he will play right away. The National runner ups are excited to have him on board. He had also considered the cougs.

Cuonzo Martin has put the finishing touches on an amazing recruiting class with the addition of Jaylen Brown. That class has got to be one of the top ranked classes in CAL history. Two of the top players in the country both 5 star players and two highly regarded 3 star players, ouch!

Rated two stars, so I am guessing he has not been evaluated by Rivals yet. WSU was his first offer, but other schools were beginning to sniff around.

It is disappointing to see that Connor was not drafted but maybe it is for the best. Better, in my mind, to be a free agent and select a team where he will fit in than be drafted late by a poor fit. Surely someone will bring in a record setting QB just to see what he is all about. Wish the kid well.

You say that is it is nonsense to suggest that this team in no better than 2012, on defense. Well then son, in 2012 we gave up 404 points, a dreadful 33.7 pts per game. I predict the over on that in 2015. In 2012 we gave 5111 yards in total offense, a dreadful 425 yards per game. I predict the over on that too. It is a good time to do it because the only player left from the Wulff, "Big Sky" recruiting era is Palacio, so Leach owns this defense. Surely, if Leach is truly recruiting at a Pac-12 level, his kids will mop the floor with the unquestioned sub par recruits that "baffoon" brought in. If I'm right you will concede in all caps, and in bold, that Leach's recruiting has been ... gasp ... bottom rung, like dumb bell, and you will not boast bout how much more talent we have now, until we prove it, objectively, with a 7 win season. (why seven wins, because Leach was able to squeeze 6 wins with a team dominated by Wulff's bottom rung kids). If you are up to the challenge, just let me know what I must do if you are right.

Hopefully, this board will still be around come last November

4star DE had committed to USC. He just de-committed yesterday. His only other offer? WSU. Just an interesting tidbit. Do we have a chance? Who knows but we'll see.

Reading the ESPN PAC12 blog and listening to the commentators yesterday for the Duck spring game an emerging topic that is being discussed is how, or will, the bottom teams in the conference improve and become competitive. They each have mentioned 4 programs WSU, OSU, CU and Cal.

They have discussed where 3 of those programs were, are and where they see them going, there was one program that was not detailed in any of those discussions, guess which one.

Whether it's apathy, visibility or lack of a program buzz seems like this program is now a nonfactor in conference discussions. That is not a good thing.

No one talks about baseball here and it isn't even obvious where one is supposed to post a baseball comment.
Anyway, I do so today just because Marbut's obsession with bunting led me to my boiling point. A great afternoon for baseball and a 0-0 game going into the bottom of the 9th. With the Coug's leadoff hitter on Sagdal comes up. He is our leading hitter. Ariz puts on the wheel play with the Ist and 3rd baseman charging and the 2nd baseman breaking for Ist. Any ground ball to the right side is a hit. Nevertheless Marbut has Sagdal bunting. He gets it down--not really a bad bunt--but the Ist baseman picks it up and gets the force at 2nd. So Marbut has now wasted his best hitter on a equally wasted out. To top things off the Cougs lose the game on a dropped fly ball with 2 outs in the 11th and then leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th. Oh well it was better than watching the Mariners get swept by Houston.

It's a good fit for Williams-Goss and Gonzaga. I really didn't want to see it happen but makes a lot of sense. I think they play again in a couple years. Should be a fun one.
