UA President's interview with CBS RE: Media Deal

Find it very interesting that they pretty much are open that they've been talking to the Big-12. I don't know if this is leverage tactic for the conference, but it does give you a sense on where things are.

The conference quickly needs to pivot to expansion and getting something done with the ACC.

Big-12 will invite Fresno, UNLV and maybe Boise to get 4 teams on the west. I suspect they look east to get their roster up to about 20 teams.

You all see this Miss Valley State Baseball ending?

Can you believe that strike 3 call? Ump has been suspended. Strike 2 was pretty bad, but strike 3 was nowhere near the plate. Did the batter bang the ump's daughter or what?

Edit - new link.....

More fun - Best Coug moments

Moments that you attended that is.

1 - getting laid by this hot older - oops this is a sports post.

1 - 1982 Apple Cup. I got a hand on the second goal post.
2 - 1979 or 1980 Basketball win over UCLA
3 - 1992 Snow Bowl Apple Cup win. Watched a mutt in the row ahead of me take out $500 and pay his Coug pal the bet they had made.
Beyond that, it gets fuzzy. That 2009 BB win over ASU, beating Cal and Jason kid under Sampson, where they basically just let everyone in for free to fill Beasley, the 1988 snowy Apple Cup win (was in YakiVegas at the time, took 4 buddies over in my Toyota van, none had ever been to Pullman. Crazy weekend. Not sure why any of us lived.)

Oh F it - Guitar thread has been fun - How about best rock singers?

My list doesn't include screamers like Brian Johnson from AC/DC. Again, no particular order:

Dead ones:
Bon Scott (AC/DC)
Freddy Mercury (Queen)
Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)
Ronny Van Zant (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Suppose we had better add Elvis......

Live ones:
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
Robert Plant (Zeppelin)
Roger Daltry (The Who)
Phil Mogg (UFO)
Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow and I think Deep Purple for an album or two)
Ian Gillan (Deep Purple, that guy has some chops)
Gregg Rolie (Santana and Journey. I'm not a Steve Perry fan)
Edit - geezus forgot the voice. Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company, The Firm. solo)

If this thread takes off I will add others.

Among the top guitarist and singer:

The Athletic: WBB COY ($)

The Athletic tabs Kamie their Coach of the Year. No brainer in my book given what she's accomplished in a very short period of time at a school that didn't have any history, etc.

In the comment section there was a comment a Don D. that wasn't surprising but good to see.

Since I attend a lot of the Pac 12 games here in Tucson, AZ, as a former college coach I enjoy getting to the arena early to watch the pregame warmups. My seats are right behind the opposition's bench. Without question Washington State is the most disciplined and organized team of all the Pac 12 teams I observed. Also, their chemistry is right at the top. Player improvement over the course of the year is exceptional, especially Bella Murekatete in the post and Astera Tuhina at the guard spot. As well, Ethridge uses her assistant coaches well, they are an active part of the coaching effort. Glad to see your choice of Kamie Ethridge.

Do We Change Recruting Strategies for the Women Now?

My fear is that now that WSU is going to get more looks from American players, we abandon the international recruiting strategies.

I sure hope not.

During this tournament, I saw quite a few musical chairs with players swapping teams.

We didn't have that problem.

We had a cohesiveness that you just don't see in sport anymore...and I think that is because we had so many international players and it created a bond because they are all new...they are all in the same boat...they are all far from home etc.

I think if we get more American players here, they are more likely to transfer if they don't get what they want right away.

Just my 2 cents.
