2024 Season predictions

There are as many 6 MWC schools on your schedule that are favorable to Wazzu. WSU losing to any of those bottom 4 schools on the below prediction is where you would want to start evaluating your life. The San Jose State prediction I think is too high. They lost their coach and best QB they've had in a very long time.

This guy's MWC football predictions....

If you are interested this prediction guy has a link to their 2024 SOS for all FBS schools.

ND Okafor - Cal to WSU

It is hard to know how big of a piece this will be. He was offered by a lot of high major teams when he came to the US. He was not a big contributor as a freshman, and he missed most of last season.

Here is another video of the under 16 European Championships. He does look very athletic. Most of his shots are either dunks or within two feet of the basket. At 16, he did look like he has good feet. Perhaps he played soccer growing up as well.

Apple Cup tickets from WSU at Lumen: $94 - $424/each....

logged into my ticket account to check. The $94 seats are in the corners and the enclosed end zone of the 300 level. My count is they make up 16 sections. There are 46 sections on the 300 level, so tickets under $100 are less than 1/3 of the 3rd deck.
Anything on the sideline 100/200 is over $200. Bargain seats are 100 level south end zone, at $183. I sat there once for a seahawk game, they’re not bad as long as you’re only interested in half of the game. You can’t see the far side very well.

Only reason this is worth so much money is they’ve jacked the prices. It’s like a major bowl or NFL playoff game - corporate sponsors will get most of the tickets. Everyday fans can’t afford it….and neither school cares.
Ok so at least they are available. What the hell is a reserved, non-donor ticket to a Pullman game these days? Must be over $50? Not to mention all the other costs as detailed by Coug Patrol.

For all the whimperers and whiners, who are also probably the biggest "Power 4, Big-12/ACC" proponents, WTF do you think you will get under your fantasy scenarios? Hint: THIS. Or develop regional rivalries with mostly like schools that you can travel to.

It’s like statistics. If you define the parameters just right, you can make the results say just about anything you want.
Stat 215 at WSU. TA Cal Bierley teaching. Only - ahem - white stat teacher. He had this little book, "how to lie with statistics", that was part of his course only. Learned more from that book in a few weeks than anything else ever. Still apply the concepts.

What I want to know: whatever happened to Jared from Subway? Seemed like a perfect ad campaign. Just eat subway every day and lose a bunch of weight.
This is a joke post, right? If so, you forgot the smiley emoji.

On Brand X. All focused on Deputy AD Mitch Straub's presentation. Takeaways:

Has anyone here ever met this guy? He's from Ohio State so he came with Chun or shortly after. Why didn't he go to uw with Chun? Hmmm. He didn't get the WSU interim AD gig. Anyway, I don't think I like him all that much. Nor do I believe some of his numbers. To wit:
  • This $62 million number keeps coming up. "This last year" is FY 2023, correct? I still don't believe it and unless I see some detail I will never believe it.
  • And the $27+ million/year for the last 4 years? Does not fly with the numbers from the Regent's meeting. I'll have to dig into this more when time permits. FY 19 was our biggest year in operating gifts - but the smallest year accoring to Straub (I know, endowments are the wildcard, but we had 12.4M per below in operating and Straub sez our total was 15.1. But every year since has been over 27M? Noooooo....

Apple Cup tickets from WSU at Lumen: $94 - $424/each....

I'm starting to get a sinking feeling here. Is this $4 million dependent on ticket sales (as opposed to a normal non-con away game where you get paid $XX for coming)? Answer: likely yes. Is it dependent upon sales of "our" half of the stadium? Answer: ????

Brand Z has an article on tickets - and it sort of implies that the $94 tickets are not many, if any.

Wonder how many tickets we'll sell to our home game vs. Wyoming after Thanksgiving?
I hadn't really looked at the dates on our schedule until you pointed this out. What a crapfest.

At least we have 3 home games in September that look winnable and should have good weather. Hawaii in mid-October should be a win, could be grim weather-wise. Then 3 weeks before Utah State on Veterans' Day weekend. Could be getting cold (Aggies won't notice), but unless we're playing well by then, people are going to do something else with their weekend. Wyoming on Nov. 30, 2 days after Thanksgiving? Weather doesn't even matter - that game won't break 18K in official attendance. They'll have to come up with some incentive and a promotion to get it past 10K in actual attendance, unless by some miracle us and Wyoming are both top 15 and Gameday shows up again.

Crazy

Let me take just a moment to point out that as of this instant the uw has not won a single league game/match/meet against the Big 10/12/14/16/18 and any sport, men or women. And although it wasn't an actual league contest, the uw did gag away their big opportunity this calendar year. WHOOPS!!!

Please explain again why you continue to hang around here being an asshole. While you are at it, perhaps you could also explain how your behavior is in ANY way better than someone hoping this guy gets an ankle sprain. Because hoping for that ankle sprain will have exactly ZERO effect on anything.
Their big opportunity - They still won the last Pac championship and the Sugar Bowl. Would have been nice to beat Michigan, but they came up short. It is funny that you try to take a shot at us losing a game the cougs have 0% chance of ever getting close to. As a Mariners fan that would be like taking a shot at someone losing the World Series when we've never even made it. Then again, at least the M's actually have a reasonable chance at making it someday.

I wouldn't exactly say "hang" around here - more like stop by once in a while to see what crazy conspiracy theories are currently being floated by 75%/80%/85% of your posters.

Less. But still doesn’t mean they overpriced the F out of tix.

Reality is there’s probably enough Seattle corporate money floating around that they’ll buy up chunks of tix and will be close to a sellout. There will still be tix on the cheap and plenty of empty seats would be my guess 🤷.
Look, D1 college football is now junior professional football. We all know that. They're going to squeeze as much blood out of the fans as they can, and they'll sleep like babies at night. The Apple Cup will officially sell out. Empty seats? Probably, but they don't care. Those who attend will pay $100 for parking, $20/beer, $18 for a burger.

I'm a big ice hockey fan, and they're doing it in Canada too. $22 for a beer. $300/ticket, and there are 41 damn home games. Taylor Swift charges $1,500/ticket for 2 hours of terrible music. People pay it.
